There is a NEW ENTRANCE at 20 West 34th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue.

Opening times are from 8:00 am through 2:00 am (last elevator at 1:15 am)

Audio guides are no longer available but Wifi is FREE throughout the building and visitors are encouraged to download the free app for an AUDIO TOUR available in 9 languages.

The Dare to Dream exhibit is located on the 80th Floor, before the final elevator to the 86th Floor Observatory and chronicles the planning and construction of this historical landmark.

“ESB Unwrapped” is its annual gift to New Yorkers, tourists, and fans across the globe this holiday season. The celebration, which takes place throughout November and December, includes a festive Fifth Avenue window display, holiday concerts and surprise appearances by celebrity guests. With decorations in gold, bronze and silver adorning the brand-new 34th Street Observatory entrance and iconic Fifth Avenue lobby, ESB invites its guests to experience the magic of the holidays in the heart of NYC. Each year, the Empire State Building looks forward to participating in New York City’s holiday transformation – a must-see for our Observatory visitors from all parts of the world.

Surprise Appearances: You never know who you may run into during a visit to ESB. Throughout the months of November and December, the building will welcome notable celebrity guests to its world-famous 86th floor Observatory to enjoy the 360-degree views and say hello to fans. In past years, the building has welcomed music legend Mariah Carey and pop icon Gwen Stefani during the holiday season.

Iconic Tower Lightings: ESB will light up the New York City skyline with tower lightings in celebration of Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

General Information: Open 7 days from 8:00 am to 2:00 am, last elevator up at 1:15 am. Voucher must be exchanged at our office with the actual ticket. Actual regular tickets give the passengers a priority only by skipping the ticket booth line, but it does not entitle to skip the line to the elevator

Admission Ticket: Enjoy 360-degree views from the 86th floor Observatory, 1,050 feet (320 meters), featuring indoor and outdoor promenade, reached by high speed, automatic elevators. The Dare to Dream exhibit is located on the 80th Floor, before the final elevator to the 86th Floor Observatory and chronicles the planning and contruction of this historical landmark. Wifi is free throughout the building and visitors are encouraged to download the free app for an audio tour available in 9 languages.

Express tickets: The fastest way to experience the Heart of NYC! Skip all lines on the way to the 86th Floor, the most famous observatory in the world.

VIP Premium experience ticket: A 90-minute, customized guided tour with an Empire State Building Observatory Ambassador which includes VIP priority access throughout the visit, behind the scene access and a commemorative souvenir photograph. The tour is available Mondays through Fridays and visit must be booked for a specific date and time.
