Dear friends and business partners The Thailand government has officially announced Bangkok’s Grand Palace will be closed from 25 until 29 October 2017 inclusive in observance of the Royal Cremation of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This highly-important event for the Thai nation will see the area around the Grand Palace and the Sanam Luang (Royal Fields) completely sealed off for the public. The official cremation date is confirmed for 26 October 2017, a public holiday for the whole country in order to allow His subjects time to join the mourning of a great leader. All our Thailand offices will be closed on the 26th of October but we will have operational and customer service teams working as usual. Asian Trails Thailand will also ensure that any pre-booked Grand Palace visit by customers will be replaced by a suitable alternative during these days. It is also recommendable to inform your customers that the area around the Grand Palace may see revised traffic conditions, particularly on 26 October 2017. Changes in operation may take place on spot to accommodate any blocked roads around the Grand Palace. We will keep you informed about any changes that may take place between today and the Royal Cremation. Yours sincerely The Asian Trails Thailand Team
